2.3 Post Installation Steps
After completing RADview installation, the following must be done:
• Create a RADview User. We recommend that you select C as the user's
SHELL. For an example of how to create a user using admintool, see Creating
a User on page 2-8.
• Set up the user's environment to include the variables needed for the
operation of RADview-HPOV. This step has to be performed for each and
every user who will use RADview-HPOV. For more information see Using the
RADview Post Installation User Environment Tool on page 2-10.
Creating a User
Before opening RADview-HPOV create a user and set the environment to include
the variables needed for RADview, HPOV and Informix.
Defining a User with Admintool
To define a user:
1. Log in as root.
2. Open a terminal and type: admintool &
The Admintool: Users window is displayed (see Figure 2-10).
