Telephone Service Extension to Remote/Rural Locations

In many remote parts of the developing

world where infrastructure is lacking,

operators are establishing public call

centers to provide basic telephony

services. The Airmux system,

incorporating RAD’s Megaplex channel

banks, enables service providers to

extend voice circuits to remote sites.

Compact Megaplex PCM-encoded

channel banks can support up to 16 FXS

voice channels. A larger Megaplex device

at the central site provides aggregation

to the PSTN.
